A large crowd of members and invited guests attended the launch of our 35th Annual Photographic Exhibition in MacDonagh Junction last night at 7pm. With about 50 members exhibiting it is one of the largest displays yet.
Chairman, John Hughes, welcomed all the members and invited guests – Councillor Eamon Aylward, Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council, Councillors Matt Doran and Malcolm Noonan and Mary Mulholland (Director of Services), Marion Acreman who is Manager of MacDonagh Junction and Chairperson of Kilkenny Chamber of Commerce, Denis Drennan, Fergus Horgan, Angela Campion, Mairead Rohan of the LEADER programme and Dr. Liam Lysaght who is Director of the National Biodiversity Data Centre.
A special word of thanks was expressed to Marion Acreman for providing the excellent venue for the exhibition and for her continued support of KPS. The representatives of LEADER were thanked for their generous grant towards the new display boards. Everyone commented on the quality of the boards and how they enhanced the photographic displays. Chairman, John Hughes, also thanked Andy Magan and his team for all their hard work in organising and co-ordinating such a successful exhibition. He also thanked club treasurer, Bernadette Marnell, for all her hard work in securing the LEADER grant for the new display boards. He then called on Councillor Eamon Aylward to officially open the 35th Annual Exhibition.
