It was a dream result! Waiting for the judges to deliver their verdict went on forever but once the announcements were made the realisation that KPS were in there with a very definite chance of honours took hold. First the individual honours were announced and KPS members figured prominently – Dieter Setz Rowe (Honourable Mention in the Colour Panel), Denis O’ Reilly (Bronze Medal in the Colour Panel) and Richard Dore (Silver Medal in the Colour Panel). The signs were good and Kilkenny Photographic Society was announced winner of the Best Colour Panel 2017.
Could things get any better? They did! Kilkenny was announced as the Most Improved Club 2017. Dare we dream of the ultimat prize? Why not? When Bill Power proclaimed Kilkenny as the IPF National Shield Champions 2017 the KPS contingent exploded with sheer euphoria and pride. What a Day in Limerick!
Our thanks to all the members who submitted photos for selection for the National Shield Competition and to our selection committee who spent long hours selecting and printing photos and making sure our panels were in perfect condition to represent the KPS in this prestigious competition. All your hard work has paid off and was a major factor in our success.
