2.  SACC Competitions, 2013/14 Season
The dates for the various SACC Competitions for the upcoming 2013/14 season have been decided by the committee.

Dear SACC Club Representative,

I have two items that will be of interest to you and your club.

1  Celtic Challenge 2013

As you are no doubt aware by now the 2013 Celtic Challenge is taking place in Cork over the weekend of 27 to 30 September, hosted by the SACC on behalf of the Irish Photographic Federation.

The events of the weekend are open to everyone.  We would like to extend an invitation to your club members to join with us in our various activities over the weekend.  A number of photographic/social event are planned for the weekend including outings to West Cork and Cobh.  See www.sacc.ie for details.

Public judging of the competition itself will take place on Saturday afternoon, 28 September, in the Clarion Hotel, Cork.  We also have an Official Dinner that night, followed by entertainment.  We would like to see as many as possible of our SACC colleagues at all our events over the weekend, especially at the judging and the dinner.  Keep an eye on the SACC website for details and booking.

2.  SACC Competitions, 2013/14 Season

The dates for the various SACC Competitions for the upcoming 2013/14 season have been decided by the committee.

Please bring these dates to the attention of your club committee and members – as three of the competitions are individual events.

The dates are as follows:

SACC Print and Projected Image Competition & SACC Annual General Meeting
Sunday 03 Nov 2013.                Venue: Mallow (to be confirmed).

SACC Nature Competition
Sunday 26 January 2014.           Venue required.

SACC Inter Club Competition
Sunday 23 March 2014.             Venue required.

SACC Creative Digital Competition
Sunday 27 April 2014.                Venue required.

Judges have been confirmed for most of the competitions; clubs will be notified of relevant judges closer to the each event.

Hosting of SACC Competitions
With the exception of the PPI Competition and SACC AGM (which is likely to be held in Mallow) we require venues for the other three competitions.  In order to spread the events throughout the region we are asking clubs to consider hosting an event.  The event itself will be run by the SACC, but we need a clubs to source venues, provide manpower on the day, and generally help in the running of the competitions.  Don’t forget each competition is a one-day event.

If your club is interested in hosting one of the above competitions please contact the SACC committee at committee@sacc.ie or myself, details below.

Many clubs will be holding their AGM over the next few months.  It is important that the names and contact details of the main officers of the club are notified to the SACC as soon as possible after the AGM so that future notifications go to the right people.

Please note – the SACC AGM will take place on Sunday 03 November 2013 to coincide with the PPI competition.
