Next week, Thursday 26th, we will be meeting in the Pembroke at 8pm to discuss our upcoming exhibition in MacDonagh Junction and hopefully allocate spaces to exhibitors. And while the good weather stays with us – remember to take some Biodiversity images.
These can be used for a number of events:
- For the Biodiversity conference being held in Kilkenny in October 2018. They are looking for images of Kilkenny Flora & Fauna, Kilkenny Urban / Landscape, People of Kilkenny. If you wish to enter images for this exhibition then upload your images to KPS Piclogger. The final images will be chosen from images put up on PicLogger at kps.events.piclogger.net
- The first KPS competition of the new season is the same theme as above. It is a print competition and due on 13th Sept. Some of these images might also be chosen for the Biodiversity Exhibition.
- The Heritage Officer of Kilkenny County Council is also looking for the KPS’s help with a Citizens Science Project with the National Biodiversity Data Centre. They are seeking photos of the following sites:
KK CastlePark, Castlemorris, Brandon Hill, Tory Hill, Woodstock, Dunmore Caves Ballykeefe Nature Reserve, Brownsbarn Woods Silaire Woods, River Nore Walk (KK City- Bennettsbridge; Thomastown to Inistioge), Castlecomer Discovery Park, Jenkinstown Woods, Kyledohir Woods, Kells (River & walk), Newpark Marsh/Fen, County Hall Grounds
They would be delighted if any of our members have high res photos of flora or fauna at these sites and some would be chosen to go up on their website. They will be getting back to us soon to let us know how to get the images to them.
