National Heritage Week provides many opportunities for the photographer with many exhibitions, events and photo opportunities. Heritage Week runs from 20th – 28th August and many of the events are free. If you visit http://heritageweek.ie you will find a full lisiting of events in Kilkenny and throughout the country. If you do a search for “photography” it will list only those events in the different locations. Here are a few of the more interesting events.

Local Heroes: A Photography Exhibition of Images related to Soldiers of the Great War from Birr.

All’s Changed: 2016 through 1916 cameras

This is a photographic exhibition of the 1916 centenary events in 2016, shot only by cameras from 1916 and chemical processes from that era. Images are a mixture of 2D prints and 3D stereoscopic photos. 3D stereoscopic glasses will be provided at the gallery.
