The National Shield Competition 2016 was held last Saturday, 12th November in the Clarion Hotel, Lapps Quay, Cork. 25 clubs participated in the competition and word is that the standard of photographs was extremely high. Kilkenny Photographic Society entered 2 panels – one colour and one black and white. The black and white panel came 7th overall and the colour panel 13th. We were placed 12th overall in the competition. Congratulations to those members whose photographs were selected for the panels and who represented us in the competition. Thanks to the selection committee – Andy, Derville, Karen, Ned and Mark who did so much work in preparing the panel and to all those who helped with boards, mounting photographs etc or who attended the event in support of our entry – John Cuddihy, Fiona Long, Ann Dowling, Patrick Quinn, Pat Brennan, Dieter Rowe Setz, Billy Culleton, Ian Dolan, Mark Desmond, John Hughes and Brian Deering.. Indeed the contribution of KPS members to the successful running of the competition was commented on. Below are the two panels and these can also be viewed here. ‎ and
