The addition of a Still Life theme opens up new opportunities for members who are not into Landscape and / or Nature themes. Check the IPF website for their definition of Still Life. However, in general this theme is take to be photography of inanimate objects.

The following definition from the Wikipedia website will give some direction those who are new to the genre:

[mantra-pullquote align=”center” textalign=”left” width=”60%”]Still life photography is the depiction of inanimate subject matter, most typically a small grouping of objects. Still life photography gives the photographer more leeway in the arrangement of design elements within a composition.
Still life photography is an art in which photographers are expected to be able to form their work with a refined sense of lighting, coupled with compositional skills. The still life photographer makes pictures rather than takes them. Knowing where to look for propping and surfaces is also a required skill.[/mantra-pullquote]
