Photo Ireland Festival 2014 (01 – 31 July)

Photo Ireland Festival, Ireland’s international festival of Photography and Image Culture is now underway. It runs throughout July each year and is in its 5th year.

Celebrating its fifth edition, PhotoIreland Festival 2014 proposes a fun and informative look at how photography is used for storytelling, often merging personal or political interests with objective approaches. The theme this year is Truths, Facts, Fictions, Lies. The festival sets out to raise awareness on local and international photographers and artists working with Photography, and to underline the work of those organisations and individuals that for years have been promoting an engagement with the medium. (Quote from WPO website)

There are many photo exhibitions throughout Dublin as part of the festival, including:

  • The Photo Album of Ireland    (Gallery of Photography)
  • Lee Miller in James Joyce’s Dublin (James Joyce Centre)
  • RHA 184th Annual Exhibition (Royal Hibernian Academy)

Visit the official Photo Ireland Website for more information.

There’s a full list of exhibitions on the site and there should be something of interest for all photographers.
