This day last year 26th November, 2017, Kilkenny Photographic Society – KPS were awarded the IPF National Shield for 2017. KPS were also awarded the Best Colour panel as well as Most improved club in 2017.
This mark this achievement John Hughes, then Chairperson and now Vice-Chairperson has kindly donated a replica shield to KPS Chairperson Ned Mahon. All of us in the Society would like to thank John for his most generous gift.
The IPF National Shield Competition2017 was held in Limerick on Sunday, 26th November, Kilkenny Photographic Society were declared the winners of the National Shield. Of the 26 clubs that entered the competition Kilkenny were award the following honours.

Richard Dore- Silver medal- Colour panel
Denis O’Reilly- Bronze Medal – Colour panel

Well done to all those who submitted photos for this competition and to the very hardworking selection committee of Andy Magan, Karen O’ Hara, Mark Desmond, Derville Conroy and Ned Mahon who gave long hours selecting photographs for the panels and in preparing the successful photos for the competition.
