Kilkenny Photographic Society
TY Photography Competition 2020
Kilkenny Photographic Society is proud to announce the winners of our 10th Annual TY competition for 2020. This year’s competition is kindly sponsored by St. Canice’s Credit Union, Kilkenny. St Canice’s Credit Union will not only be sponsoring the main prizes this year but will also sponsor the Pat Moore Perpetual Trophy in remembrance of their good friend and member. Pat was a well known local photographer in Kilkenny working for the Kilkenny People newspaper as well as many of the national Irish newspapers alike.
As well as the potential for winning great prizes, some of the entry photographs went on exhibition in The Butler Gallery’s new location Evans’ Home Kilkenny last August in the Learning Centre. Entires will also be included for consideration for the 2021 St Canices Credit Union calendar.
Transition Year students from across schools in Kilkenny, Laois and Carlow areas entered this year’s competition and the standard of entry was extremely competitive. While there was no official theme for this year’s competition, the organising committee, however, felt that the transition year competition is a wonderful opportunity for students to share some of their experiences of a transition year. Such as trips or work experience they may have taken part in.
This Year’s Prizes:
The three students with the best images from each school will receive medals on the night of Presentation of Prizes and Awards.
