Congratulations to the winners of the Environmental Portrait Competition. Jack Healy was the winner in the Novice Section, Dan Ryan won the Intermediate Section and the Advanced Section winner was Mark Desmond. Many thanks to the judge on the evening – Gerry Kerr FIPF – who did a great job and shared many tips for improving our photography. Following the judging Jerry shared a slideshow of his visit to Nepal where he captured the people, their lifestyles, living conditions, and the beauty of the countryside. His successful F panel – 20 Black and White photos – was based on this trip. Most of Gerry’s photos are captured with a 23mm wide angle lens. This is a lens he’s become very comfortable with but as it’s a prime lens you have to think more about the shots you take. This was the lens he used for his panel and it is just a superb piece of photography.

Following on from this our next theme is “Window Light”. This is a print competition. Remember you can enter 2 prints for this competition but ALSO REMEMBER THE RULES!!. Where can you find the rules?
